This will include remuneration to the authors writing for QSIS. Stipend to the working interns and honorarium to the researchers involved in the fieldwork. The chair also supports the salary of staff serving QSIS in various capacities.
Endowment
The endowment is currently (2020-present) funded by Mr. Malik Warsi from India. The initial cost of endowment is set to be $133,514 US dollars to set up the faculty chair. The current contributor to the endowment is Mr. Malik Warsi. Although we have plans for crowdfunding too in the future in case we are unable to reach the endowment budget.
Inaugural holder
The Imam Hussain A.S. endowment chair is unique of its kind. Like a traditional chair, it is not chaired by a single individual on its inauguration, but it is jointly shared by all the researchers and administrators (past and present) supporting/supported by QSIS in their best possible way. This model of chair will continue till the institute reaches the minimum threshold.
