Saqib Shaami

Saqib Iqbal Shaami better known as Pir Saqib Shaami to his followers is a British Pakistani Sunni Islamic scholar and preacher from Birmingham, England. He is a follower of Chishti sufi order. He is known for his organization Kanzul Huda, a non profit organization dedicated to helping the Muslim community.

Saqib Shaami was born in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) as Muhammad Saquib Bin Iqbaal Shaami in April 1979 in a deeply religious family adhering to various Sufi practices. It is said that he was inclined towards Islam since his childhood. He has acquired various spiritual and worldly qualifications which include a Bachelor of Arts in law from Staffordshire University, Hifz ul Quran, Qirat Tajwid and Dars e Nizaami courses. He is the recognized patron of Tahrik e Ahlesunnah, England. His noble asatizah include Sheikh Ramadan Al Buti, Sheikh Rasul Baksh Saeedi, Sheikh Osama Murad, Shaeikh Mustafa al Buga, Sheikh Sameer unnnaas, etc.

In 2017 August, Boxer Amir Khan and his wife Fariya Makhdum visited Saqib Shaami to save their marital life. In that, Shaami asked them to give their marriage a second chance.

Sadia Dehlvi in one of her articles (published by India Times) mentioned Saqib Shaami as a new Barelvi icon from Pakistan who has a cult like fan followings. She further wrote about Shaami, that he considers Shia as Kafir.

He was one among the British Muslim Scholars who wrote an open later to Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi against the February 2020 lock down in Kashmir.

In July 2016, he demanded to ban Zakir Naik.

Kanzul Huda

Kanzul Huda was established as a global Muslim organization by Saqib in 2003, for the betterment of the community, according to its official website it is based on Sufi morals and values, especially adhering to Khwaja Moinuddin chishti R.A. Initially started in Birmingham, England later spread to various parts of the World

Criticisms and Controversies 

Shaami was in controversies among the sunnis when Huzoor Muhaddis e Kabir (Allama Ziya ul Mustafa Qadri Razvi) condemned him as "Bahrupiya" and Ghair Muqallid.

He also faces criticism for his beard by mainstream Sunnis Hanafis, as being Hanafi he is keeping his beard short.


Allama Zia ul Mustafa Razvi Qadri is the senior most leader of Sunni Sufi Muslim of Indian subcontinent. He is residing in Bareilly Sharif.
